2006 Blüthner Model 2 Semi-Concert Grand Piano 7'10'. A rare masterpiece of European piano-making. Blüthner pianos occupy an esteemed position within the pantheon of European piano-making. Following a similar trajectory as the other fine heirloom Western European brands (like Bösendorfer, Bechstein, and Steingraeber), Blüthner has endured for over 160 years by producing a very small quantity of instruments built to the highest possible standards. The Blüthner Model 2 measures 238 cm in length (nominally 7'8'', actually 7'10''), sizeably larger than many comparable heirloom-grade semi-concert grands (like the Steinway B and Bösendorfer 225). The increased size affords a tone which is uniquely different, remarkably rich and lively in nature with Blüthner's signature bell-like sonority. Cherished by a single owner. When you play this instrument a completely new world will open up to you. This instrument will capture your imagination and inspire you with its powerful dynamics and clear tone, allowing for complete freedom of interpretation. It is well suited to solo recitals or as the perfect compliment to a chamber orchestra. Since 1853, Blüthner pianos have been exclusively manufactured in Leipzig, Germany.

To this day, the Blüthner family of craftsman and entrepreneurs continues to head the Blüthner firm and personally oversees the production of each piano bearing their name. They carry on the legacy of the founder, Julius Blüthner, to build the best pianos in the world. The highest standards of precision and craftsmanship have been achieved here for over 150 years. Today, this standard is certified on every individual soundboard by the signatures of the Blüthner family owners. Blüthner pianos incorporate several unique technical features.

The most visibile of these is aliquot stringing, where the notes in the highest treble section (about the top two octaves) have four strings each instead of three. The extra string is raised slightly above the others and vibrates only sympathetically.

This the tonal color of the instrument and provides a unique rich, singing quality that other instruments simply cannot duplicate. Includes CT-RI-Parts of NYC-Boston-Most of MA (Not all locations in these areas eligibile, please inquire before purchasing). New England's Piano Destination, Since 1929.
