1924 Mason & Hamlin baby grand piano that has been in the same family for 100 years. It has been in his family since his death. Most, if not all, of his art songs were written or practiced / performed on this piano.
I'd love to see it with someone who will love it and take care of it. This would be an excellent investment for a refurbisher, but it can be tuned and played now. It has a GORGEOUS sound - very rich for a baby grand. It was refurbished in 2002 by experts in Florence, Mass, and has been tuned and played since then. I just had it looked at and the piano tuner said.Your piano is a Mason and Hamlin Model A, 5-foot-eight in ebony finish, made in 1924. It has been restrung in the original pin block. The hammers have been replaced on the original shanks and flanges.
The back check leather has been replaced. Other than that the action is original as is the soundboard. We bought a newer piano bench, which is included. You will have to hire professional movers, it is very, very heavy. If you live in Texas (DFW metroplex) you can pick it up with piano movers.
