The design was produced in limited numbers beginning in 1937 and into the 1940s. The walnut wood case features a two-part winged lid that gives the impression of a butterfly's wings. This is the only model to have four legs. These are mahogany fluted tapers ending in brass casters. The foot pedestal is a lyre form. The keyboard is a 73-note : FF to F4. The Model 235 was marketed as a status symbol, but affordable.
The piano is compact, making it a great option for small space living. Original marketing included tossing cut-paper butterfly shapes from the upper floor windows of buildings. Piano measures 48" wide x 46" deep x 36.5 high. Bench measures 26" wide x 12.5" deep x 20 high. The bench seat is hinged to open for sheet music and song book storage.
