Mason & Hamlin Model A 5'8'' Player Grand Piano Figured Mahogany PianoDisc/QRS. A classic Boston-era Mason & Hamlin. This Mason & Hamlin 5'8'' grand piano, Model A, was built in 1913 in the original Mason & Hamlin factory in Boston. It will be a fine addition to your home. There is a fraternity of piano enthusiasts who find early 20th-century Mason & Hamlin pianos from the Boston factory to be some of the finest pianos in the world. The signature sound that makes these pianos so sought after is immediately evident the moment you begin to play these instruments. This piano features a lovely figured mahogany cabinet with a striking grain pattern that simply cannot be found in more contemporary instruments. It will make a wonderful addition to your home! This piano was restored by the previous owner within the last 30 years. Our inspection indicates the following work was performed during this restoration.
New strings and tuning pins. Restored action with new hammers, shanks, and flanges. New Mason & Hamlin fallboard logo applied. Restored, repaired, and refinished original soundboard. An area of the rear lid and cabinet exhibits some minor cosmetic lightening due to sun exposure since restoration; this is extremely common in wood-finish pianos and should not likely diminish the overall visual presentation in most settings.
