Made in 1914, this Mason & Hamlin A was recently rebuilt with new strings, new dampers, new key tops, new hammer felts, soundboard repair, and new pins in addition to our standard refurbishment work of extensive regulation, hammer shaping, multiple tunings, and cabinet work. As a result, this Model A is in fantastic internal and external condition and both plays and sounds like a much, much newer instrument! The tone is full, present, and pristine. The sound brimming with richness and elegance: highly resonant with a resoundingly powerful bass range. The color change with the soft pedal is especially prominent, changing the generally bold tone into a wonderfully mellifluous color.
