This grand piano is small and compact, yet rich in sound, with surprising volume. Due to the length of its bass strings, this small SAUTER grand piano carries conviction with its ample sound and rich fundamental tone. This instrument is a real highlight in its class.

Since it was acquired by me in 2018 it was regularly tuned, maintained and professionally played in a climate-controlled environment.

Since piano was in a climate-controlled room both hairline cracks are still the same and didn't expand and have no effect on the sound of this marvelous instrument. Some folks are very worried when they hear about soundboard cracks, some of them are actually professional pianists. Pinblock condition: pinblock is solid and piano holds pitch with no issues.

Hammers: Good condition with enough felt left to play for many years. Manufacturing pianos is a fine craft which, as a company founded on tradition, we live out with a passion.

While the right pedal sustains all the notes on a piano, the sostenuto, in essence, holds down selective notes you wish to sustain. When it is depressed, the last note played continues to sound while all the other notes are damped.
