Steinway Model A Grand Piano

  
Offering a lovely restored 6-foot Steinway & Sons Model A grand (#63109, c1888). This piano was rebuilt (I think in the 1980s) with new Steinway hammers, shanks and flanges. The restoration was fairly comprehensive: new pinblock, tuning pins and strings, complete professional case refinish in satin black lacquer, key tops and fronts, damper felts. The original soundboard and bridges look flawless.

This piano retains its original Eastlake-style reeded legs and fretwork music desk. Though the work was completed several years ago, it has held up well.

The piano was always well-maintained and never abused or heavily played. Hammers have very low wear.

There is no veneer damage and very little wear to the finish. No rust, mold, insects or smells.

Tuning pins are tight, and piano is tuned to concert pitch (A440). The Model "A" was introduced by Steinway in 1878. Though a 19th century instrument, this piano maintains a beautiful full tone and action. It holds a tuning well.

Included is a rarity, and something I've never before seen: the original matching bench. Piano is available for inspection at my shop in West Chester, PA.
