This magnificent 6' 11" (211 cm) grand piano is often referred to by pianists as ". This close grain enables the sound to travel more efficiently which creates a greater variance of tone, color and richness. The Hexagrip pin block contains 7 layers of hard rock maple in a staggered grain formation which holds the pins in place, keeping the piano in tune longer. With Steinway's "accelerated action", the keys are more responsive and sensitive to touch, enabling repetition at a much faster speed.
