We had looked at other Yamaha C7s. It's quick and easy. Besides our company's own history dating back to the mid-60s, this piano was acquired in 2008 from Crushing Music in NY with its own history. A lot of artists recorded their records on it, one being legendary Billy Preston. Also, familiar ad campaigns such as "sometimes you feel like a nut, " "Chevy built to last, " and others were written on it.
Since then, it has been in the live room of the historic Trod Nossel Studios and used by clients and artists for the last 11 years. It's in great condition for its age still sounds amazing, and holds a tune well.We just don't use it much anymore and are evolving the company. It should be getting the use it deserves. Upon arrival here from NY, we had it completely tuned up and had the hammers re-done. It has been tuned within the last year.
Our tuner is the same tuner that tunes pianos for the CT Casino's, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. The bench that came with the piano was damaged when we got it, so we had someone give it a bandaid fix - it's not perfect but it's more level than it was when we got it.There are some surface scratches and smears on the top and maybe some nicks on the legs. Someone at Crushing had spilled something in it so there is a stain, however, if you look at the photos of the soundboard it is near perfect and not affected by this. The piano is just several yards from a level door that leads to our back, private lot. Word of warning to scammers: we have seen and heard it all (especially in this business) and will know immediately if you are a scammer so don't waste your energy.
